Don't bother with those store bought shavers they are expensive and don't work well, try using a regular shaver you would use on your face and legs, not the power type the disposable type shaver are best and work as well as the store bought clothes shaver. Just run the shaver down the fabric gently and carefully not snagging the fabric as you go and it will remove the pills and lint easily. Good Luck !

Wish I could say specifically, but from reviews (of cordless ones) I have seen so far, the Evercare brand tops out; the others are sufficient. From years of personal experience with a variety of methods, it also depends on what you are trying to "de-pill" and how large an area you are working on. If I were in the market for a corded on, the ID Corp Sweater Shave/Lint Remover ranks even higher.
If the pills are large, you're working on a large area, &/or the fabric is nubbly, a large fuzz buster of any brand works better than any human body shaver. The head and the holes on the shaver are larger and designed for the large pills, there's a large place to collect the pills/fuzz and it is easier to clean out the head of any build-up.
The smaller versions work equally well, even for large surfaces, they just have smaller holes.
Sweater combs and stones CAN be helpful, but mostly for more firmly woven materials with small pills (maybe not as well for sweaters). You must regularly remove the pills from the stone/comb/
I personally find small battery powered fabric shavers most useful, no matter the brand - they're easier to clean than other choices, easier to control in order to prevent damaging the fabric (from saving too closely or pulling), and they have a collection place for the pills.

A fabric shaver is great for pills on acrylic fabric but if you have actual threads hanging off the fabric scissors are your best bet. Try the tiny pointed manicure scissors. They will get in close enough. You can try putting a blaket on the furniture to save it in the future.

I've tried several different kinds and none of them worked. I use those rollers with the sticky paper on them for my clothes and to remove cat hair from the furniture. If the pills on the fabric don't come off that way the only way that I've found to be effective is to just pick them off by hand.

As a former dry cleaner, we used an electric shaver you would use on your face. Nothing fancy needed.

buy a pack of expensive razors, for face or legs, the kind without a moisturizing strip. run that gently over the clothing or upholstery and it will remove the pills.
