are the reservations for backward classes to colleges and services justified?

well,it's like reservations have been existing in india for nearly half a century now and it has hardly done any good to the backward classes as they still have not come up to a standard of other it makes them more dependent than enabling them to work hard.amid all this i fell its more of votebank politics rather than "deshseva"

There's no flaw with the law. The reservation system was brought into highlight keeping into mind that earlier the low caste people were the ones who were poor. How could their children manage to get better education? In order for the better prospect of their offsprings, the reservation system was introduced. Later the law found out that there are few more groups falling into the category. They added in more groups.

It is difficult in our country the manage the reservation system in terms of the income of the family because the government calculates the income based on the taxes paid by the person earning in the family. And, we donot have much of the honest tax payers in the country. Hence based on few acturial facts, the law laid down the system of reservation.

Now its upto us, the citizens to use it wisely. If I belong to one of those ANAMAT groups and I am financially capable availing my education on monetory terms, it becomes my duty not to show in my caste certificate to avail the benefit and save the seat for some other needy person. But for my financial benefits, I won't do that. Finally it's the act of a citizen affecting the other citizen and not the law.

The government offers us a few aids that affects its revenues. It's upto us to decide whether we want to use that revenue on our own benefit or on the countrys development...

Those reservations are for Hindus alone in name of Scheduled Castes/Tribes and for none else to accommodate Hindus in educational institutions and government jobs. A SC/SC loses such reservations on his embracing any religion such as Islam or Christianity, and will be eligible so long as he remains a Hindu. For these reasons, the percentage of Non-Hindu minorities is very less or even negligible (not proportionate to their percentage in the population) in such institutions and jobs.

Reservation to any categury is prevantion of quality persones to serve his nation best &thats why our cream person goes abroad .If our so called leader could not bring these so nammed resrvation /SC/ST/Backward till to main stream .Now 50 yrs went away our freedom now it is very deficult to came alltogether by vertue of reservation.Honestely no one even(any govt.)our leader if search there heart do not think to take these soscieties higher level by reservation this is the only vote bank who prevent any govt to getdrid of this nuicense.&If any body ask once get benifited by reservation why 2nd time their forthcommer eg reserve categury collector's; DSP;SP MAGISTRATE ;MP; MLA all there son don't have resourses to study himselves rater then go by stepes of reservation?

Of course, it is advisable and the moral responsibility of Government to allow all possible reservations and bring them up. "The reservation of back ward classes are neither politics/vote bank nor deshseva."

IF THE INTENTION OF THE PEOPLE IS TO ABOLISH CASTE, THEN IT IS NOT JUSTIFIABLE MAKING RESERVATIONS IN THE NAME OF CASTE.THE FRUITS OF THE RESERVATIONS FOR THE LAST 60 YEARS ARE BEING ENJOYED BY THE CREAMY LAYER AND DID NOT REACH REALLY POOR AND BACK WARD PEOPLES. THE SON OF A COBBLER IS STILL A COBBLER AND THE SON OF A BARBER IS STILL A BARBER BUT WHERE AS THE SONS OF IAS, IPS OFFICERS, MINISTERS ARE OCCUPYING GOVERNMENT JOBS, POLITICAL POSTS IN THE NAME OF BACK WARD CASTES. CREAMY LAYER IS TO BE ADOPTED AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN ANY RESERVATION. RESERVATIONS SHOULD BE STRICTLY PROVIDED TO PEOPLE BELOW POVERTY LINE.

I am not a caste hater. But merit must be the only criteria. Donkeys from any caste high or low must get a donkey job.
