well like i said before there's to many NHL teams with fewer super stars per teams compare to back in the 80's when you had like 5 to 10 super stars per team and the scoring was really high compare to today's NHL the talent is to spread out.

It's fast as it is, there is more fights, more cheap shots though. They didn't promise a bunch of goals. It won't be interesting unless you are a die hard fan like some are, including me. 3-2 isn't low scoring also. 1-0 just means the goalies are very good, 2-1 is still good goalies and some good offense, and 3-2 is competitive, close game. Those are the games that come down to the final second, those are the good games. It's not hard to watch, you just need to enjoy what you got, but also, I'm a big Sabres fan, which leads the league in goals, so maybe it's easier for me to say. It's a good game still, but if we fire Bettman, it could be resolved.

I love the low scoring games that feature great goal tending...I'm a Pens fan and even though they lost one of the most exciting games of the year was the 1-0 loss to the Devils a few weeks back. Brodeur and Fleury were both amazing in that game.
I don't think I could watch the NHL if the scores were 9-7 every night.

The issue is playoffs. less teams are really going at it these days with playoff races as tight as they are (at least in the east) and that's creating less goals in some games.
Also, the games often seem to have good goaltending and defense, but are still very offensive. Did you see the COL BOS game? quite a few great saves on both sides. and the game wound up being 2-0 with one being an empty netter.
I like that kind of game. It's interesting even though not many goals are scored. much better then seeing the trap or the LW lock. those are jsut boring.

The teams in the NHL play more defensive unlike the 80's when the scores reached to about 5-4, 6-5 almost every game

The NHL officiating is a joke...you get the current officials rule book for that game....could be the old NHL, could be the new NHL, you never know what youre going to get. The NHL officials are the worst in sports, or at least theyre making one hell of an argument for it! In back to back Bluejackets game, one game had 4 penalties the whole game (and yes, there was DEFINATELY more then 4 penalties that could have been called in the game) and the next game there was 15....the players have no idea which rule book to play by night in and night out. I hate NHL officiating with a PASSION!!

Do you really want a game that is 9-5 or something like that? Those games are fun at first, but very boring.
I prefer the closer 2-1, 3-2, 1-0, etc. games. They are more exciting when every power play matters; when every kick save, breakaway, and breakout matter; when every check, offsides, and icing matter. The intensity and entertainment are better. Your heart races and you feel like you are in the game.

The goalies got way better. And all the tricks the players know to get past defenders are being taught how to stop them. I want a lot of goals to be scroed but the best games are the ones that are close and you dont know who is going to win.

Just like couple years back before the lockout, defenses were good all over. Teams would take less chances and play a more Conservative game. Plus, it seems like all the fire power these days is in Pittsburgh.
