I have a question to answer your question... how can so many people be wrong about one person? Do you really think that everyone is that blind? You even said it yourself, you have rarely, if ever, said or done something cruel to someone, so what is it that you're trying to cover up by showing kindness? The only thing that you could even consider to be bad about yourself, is the fact that you only do good things for others to keep yourself from feeling bad for things you haven't even done. If you can believe so strongly in the words that one person has constantly drilled into your mind, why can't you do the same with the positive words that other people are trying to instill in you? If you can't trust yourself, then at least trust reason. If you can see very clearly that you have done nothing to cause anyone a great deal of harm in any form or fashion, then you aren't cruel. But even the nicest people can make mistakes, don't dwell on the things you've done, press forward and make yourself better for it.

Mortimer Snerd
Simon LaGree

If this is for a book then the character you create will give life and personality to the name. How does the name Jeffrey Dahmer affect you?

Evil or cruel names should have one syllable using "hard" letters like a "G" or "K" or a hissing sound like "S" or "SH".

Sarg
Dirk
Nash
Bart
Bert
Kent
Cash
Jack
Lance

For females the freaky ones to me are the ones that sounds sweet at first but the same rules apply.

Trish
Lisa
Layla (I love this name but it can sounds like a spider in wait)

Every person must go through what you are going through. It's not a unique situation but it also is not to be taken lightly. Focus on God's goodness and try to focus less on your bad and even your good qualities. As you strive through this hard period of your life God will give you encouragement and you will see your value to him. Find your worth in him and you will get through this with more faith and a healthier view of yourself. Remember that you are not what people say you are, or what you say are, but what God says you are; wonderfully made, unique, chosen, special, etc. I used to have this big list of verses with Bible verses describing what God thinks of us and it really helped me when I felt the same way you have described. Search your Bible these types of verses and keep them close to you.

Llewelyn. When pronounced properly the first two letters sound like you're trying to hork. Imagine dragging your uvula across the back of your throat while saying "who" and then add the sound "ellen" to this, and you've got proper pronunciation of that name. I love Welsh!

If you're looking for "made-up-ish" names, I'd go with something like Rudo or something... (pronounced roo-dough)

Realistic names, "James" always has a sort of "sly" feel to it... while Rob and Elliott have more of a "dark" feel.
