Color, our natural individual color, denotes race. They take that away by being blue which makes them both nutral to all races and set apart as misfits within humanity.
I learned this from their documentary.

If they were some other colour they wouldn't be the Blue Man Group! Can you imagine them as The Yellow Man Group, or The Orange Man group?
