1.6 petrol, new battery but when you turn the key starter motor does not work. Recently had 2 new ignition coils fitted. Lights etc work but won't turn over on the key.

is this just happened after changing the battery?? have you put ALL the wires on? (2 red ones) & there tight connections...
Does it make a clicking sound when you turn the key? then the battery isn't charging(it's lost its charge) so it would be the altenator.
if it's the starter motor, you can give the starter motor a few little bangs, or if it's manual put the car in first or second gear & rock the car forwards & backwards to unjam the starter. if it starts then you know you need to replace the stater.

Presume that this car has a computer to run the engine, so the problem could be computer related especially if the battery change requires the system to be reset. The only other could be the starter and solenoid, however this can be tested by merely putting power to the live side of the motor and seeing if it turns. If however you know nothing about cars see an expert.

most lightly the starter motor, but it could be still something to do with the ignition or regulator, or just the solenoid on d starter hope i am of some help good luck Brian

Sorry but renaults are notorious for the electrical problems get it fixed then sell it and never ever buy another one of these french pieces of junk

most proberly the starter is u/s unless it's an auto and the inhibiter switch is u/s

beacuse its french, best thing to do is send it back thier on the first ferry out of dover. sorry
