Take it to a jeweler, or wait a couple months and see what color it makes your skin

Look for a marking that says 333, 555, or 888. 3 is 10k, 5 is 14k, 8 is 20k(?)

10K gold is darker than 14k gold.

Bite in the gold, if its 10 it tast like butter, if its 14 it tast like chocolate, if its 18 it tast like coffee and if its 24 it does not tast anything else then pure gold.
