Anyone ever take the Downeaster out of Boston to Maine? How was it?

I have not taken it but I know people who do and love it.

I would think it's biggest shortcoming is that the new Portland station is actually located on the city's southern outskirts and so you need to cab it or bus it. They should have added a rail shuttle or light rail trolley to Old Port.

took it once. thought it was great. nice and easy. if it went up to the lewiston / auburn area it would have even been better.
