Not fully sure what you are asking here. Do you want to know the definition of a phobia of heterosexuals or are you asking why some heterosexuals seem to have a phobia against others with a different sexuality?
Homophobia or Heterophobia -
These are learned or acquired responses that are dynamically kept active, ie they choose to perpetuate it.
True phobias can be mostly cured in a few minutes. Decisions to allow others the same rights as ourselves can be taken in a split second.
Good luck! Rob

Not exactly sure what you're asking, but I am always amused at the actions in which men engage to "assure" or rather "demonstrate" their "macho-ness."
It's almost as though they're trying to convince themselves (as well as those around them) that they're not effeminate in any way - the back slapping and arm punching as opposed to a simple hug, the popularity of contact sports, the letting their beard grow for hunting season, etc.
I'm not saying these actions are odd in and of themselves; just that many men have "maleness" issues.
Another related "issue" would seem to be touching.
I've known several men who couldn't relate to professional massage therapy, because for them, any physical contact that wasn't aggressive is automatically sexual.
In other words, they couldn't allow a female to massage them, because (for them) it would be sexual. And God forbid a MALE would massage them; that would not only be sexual, but gay.
Poor guys...

People have all sorts of phobias for all sorts of reasons. Some people don't have any phobias at all -- I don't.

Do you mean homophobia? It just comes from ignorance, old myths & misunderstanding & misinterpretating the truth - that all sexualities are perfectly normal & OK.

You got it wrong. It's not a phobia of the straights, it's paranoia of the gays.
