I just don't want to dream anymore. I'm tired of waking up with these pictures in my head. Is there a way to simply stop all dreaming?

Your dreams are trying to tell you something. No is no some premonition or psychic power. What is happening is that your subconcious is trying to communicate with you. It usually are unimportant things that happen to you every day. Nightmares, or recuring dreams might be a different story. You probably have some unresolve issues and your subcosious is trying to tell you that you need to solve them. It could be anything, like a dying member of the family, lots of unpaid bills, problems at work. Hard to say since I'm not you. Your dreams will also be custom made for you, because each person sees and handles the same situation differently. Once you find out what the issue is in your life and either find a solution or come to terms with it you will dream less or you will dreams things that are more pleasant or not worth remembering.

I've heard that there is a way. You have to gain control of your conscious self while sleeping, and inwardly convince yourself to wake up or to stop dreaming and think of something else. That's just what I've heard. I haven't been able to do it yet.

i don't think you can, because it's the unconscious part of your brain that's dreaming. maybe that's why we forget our dreams sometimes when we wake up
