What can I do to look more impressive for college admissions?

I'm already in 2 afterschool activites, Project Discovery and GSA. I have a 3.0 GPA and I got a 1400 on my SAT and I have a job. But I feel like I want to do more.

Well, there are a ton of things that you can do. First, like others have said, your afterschool activities are great--they show you can organize your time well and get involved. However, they don't show you are capable of stepping up and being a leader. First, I would run for an office in one or both of the organizations. Also, like others have said, get some community service under your belt--anything is great, but if you can plan, organize, and execute a semi-large scale project by yourself/with the help of others, that looks even better.

Also, I would try to take upper level/honors/AP courses. Theese classes show colleges you're capable of managing the types of classes that you will take in college.

You'll definitely want to visit the college, like others have said as well.

A really great thing to do is think of something that really sets you apart. Things like organizing your own clubs or community service projects are great. They show that you are capable of original ideas that reach greater people. But also don't discount other things as well. Have you ever been to anywhere amazing? Do you fluently speak another language? etc, etc.

Also, if the colleges you want to go to ever go to local college fairs/to your school, definitely make sure you go and speak with their representatives. This is similar to visiting the campus--you show you're really interested in their college and this is impressive.

Aside from that, it's the usual things--work on continually improving your grades & possibly re-taking the SAT or maybe taking the ACT and seeing if your score on that is better than on the SAT.

well if i was the person incharge in giving u entering the university ill be very impressed with ur performance. what i think is maybe u could joined like world organization such as UNICEF shows that u care about the world and maybe u could also join any program for high school to help them to deal with peer pressure,bullying,drugs.this shows that you want to help the youth since u've gone through as one or going through right now. this will show ur leadership as an individual and i bet this will impressed the university u going too..but dont forget to check more details about the uni u going too though,who knows u might find better uni out there than what u have in mind.hope this helps.good luck!!

Your activities are great. But it only shows that you are a follower. Now show that you are a leader. Start your own club, or Community Service program.
Also if possible on a college applications add a picture of you volunteering, or a newspaper article of a large volunteer program you participated in. it cant hurt.

you can do communnity service to show that you are a leader in both academics and in your community. Also, make sure you visit your desired school. When you visit, schools keep track of how many times you visit them. So by showing that you went there, it shows to them that your are interested in them.
