I can only believe the Flat Earth Society is a hoax. I mean c'mon, "Once again, picture in your mind a round world. Now imagine that there are two people on this world, one at each pole. For the person at the top of the world, (the North Pole), gravity is pulling him down, towards the South Pole. But for the person at the South Pole, shouldn't gravity pull him down as well? What keeps our person at the South Pole from falling completely off the face of the "globe"?"
Gravity pulls you to the center of the object with the gravitational field. Therefore, you would constantly be falling into the middle of the earth regardless of starting position.

Very few, but there still are such misled people. I'm pretty sure they've made up something about why water doesn't fall off at the end of the world.

It's a fallacy that people used to believe the world was flat. They were never that dumb - you can see the curvature, especially on the sea and can compare with what they see of the sun & moon..
