Congress has passed several laws that have 1000's of rules that make water pollution illegal in all states.
There are both criminal penalties and civil penalties for corporations, officers, and managers if they intentionally violate or inadvertently violate these rules.
Remediation and Pollution Prevention is a multi billion dollar a year business. Congress has made it easier for corporations to comply and clean up releases.
Enviromentalists that think they are saving the planet by protesting Kerr McGee have no idea how much money they spend on trying to preserve the environment.
Sure, there are PCBs in sediment in many lakes up north, the Exxon Valdez was a nasty spill. But, GE and Exxon have spent 100's of millions to clean up there spills.
What can you do? Don't fall for the partisan crap that is blown out the buttocks of the lobbiests (enviromentalists) that lie about there movement, its impact on the planet and the impact on the environment.
--
If you are going to be an environmentalist, then you need to adopt the environmental lifestyle. No electricty, no computers, no cars, no preserved or refrigerated foods. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

I live in Arizona. Our supply is one of our greatest concerns, as large numbers of people are migrating here. The problem is that many of those people want to keep the same lifestyle they had where they lived before. The desert region simply aren't equipped with the water supply to support such a lifestyle. I came up with at least one suggestion. Why use our precious water to flush down our personal waste. Garbage disposals, water toilets, etc Every time we go to tinkle a little we waste gallons of water. When we end up not having water to drink, we will wish we hadn't done that. So, why don't we stop right here and think, and do something about it, before it comes to that? We could have solar incineration station in all these popular housing developments that seem to pop up everywhere almost over night. I think that if these greedy multimillionaire developers like for example, Rhodes Homes and others like them, started doing alternative waste managemwnt programs, others would follow. An I really do believe that if people had a chance to own a eco friendly home , they would buy it, Especially if it was government subsidized, (something worth doing). And especially if they got a price break on one of those homes versus higher prices on a non eco friendly house. I don't think ALL the people are ignorant. And I think that more and more people might be starting to WAKE UP. NON water personal waste disposal systems that don't emit bacteriologic waterspray. 95% of the estrogen in a birth control pill goes back into the soil, and even back into the water treatment plants. This causes demasculinazation of male animals, male pathogens(not sure) I think, and wrecks havoc with animal reproduction. Likewise does male enhancements drugs, steroids etc. No wonder we have so many gays in the city. Maybe it's in the water?Hah! Hormones take a long time to digest or dissolve, and are not destroyed in the water purification process. Well. if the hormones aren't flushed into the ground in the first place we wouldn't have those problems, for one. So the arguments are many. So maybe we could come up with some concrete ideas. Have Any?

there are resources out there but as long as their is pollution there is going to be acid rain. acid rain pollutes out clean drinking water and destroyes crops like citrus trees(the capital for florida and california) and alfalfa(capital for the mid-west and ohio)
