forgetting to call someone and others don't even care if they ran over a baby. Why are some people so selfish and mean hearted

Its the world we live in, hon. We all have a moral base as to what is wrong and what is not. The people that care about the little things just have a different idea of what's right and wrong than the people that don't care. Don't worry about the ones that don't care because one day, nobody will care for them either. What goes around comes around.

I've always wondered that too. If fact, I've thought that it would be interesting to fill a selfish person's shoes for a day to see it they really are that selfish and oblivious to the world around them. Hopefully, they will someday see the wrongs they are doing. It's sad how some people can be so mean and just seem to not care about anyone but themselves. I wish I could answer your question.

Most negative traits in our nature are a form of defence or offence mechanism. We do this either to express or release frustration thats bottled up within or to attract negative attention. There are a lot of underlying reasons for negative behaviour or "meanness" but the basic cause is neglect and /or a feeling of being unwanted and uncared for.
