It is indeed a Fijian drink ... and why you would want it (except for a science or social studies project) escapes me. It tastes quite thorougly vile ... the predominant flavour being soap, and the texture rather nasty also. It's offered to guests, who are supposed to drink it down without pulling a face, and that must be more difficult than eating the sheep's eye.

I doubt whether anybody would want to import it unless there were a local Fijian community in that area and for some unfathomable reason they were nostalgic for it (as opposed to being intensely relieved at having escaped from it).

If you were absolutely desperate, you could try their diplomatic mission in your country (I believe that they're represented by New Zealand overseas) and ask whether they could help with a sample.

i take it you mean its fijian, and its a relaxant. just put kava on yahoo search. and you will get the information you need.

Best go to Fiji I think. As I recall it (maybe wrong!) it's the roots of cassava, chewed by the elder women of the village, spat into a bowl & fermented. If you find any, please don't let me know...

I was in Fiji and drank it, it was horrible....can't imagine it being sold outside of Fiji
