I believe putting fear into you by saying that you'll go to hell if you dont do ...such n such...is hog wash and abusive and definately not true. The afterlife is a place we all go to continue learning our life lessons. Whether you live your life well or badly we all go on to continue learning. We do not get punished in the here after any worse than we get punished in this life. What comes around goes around. You reap what you sow. What you put out you get back. Like begets like. It is not so important to worry about the afterlife as it is to learn to be a good person and help others as you can and teach love not hate, and by all means stay clear of fear for those that teach fear will teach you how to fail.
I bet the afterlife is beautiful too.

The soul has a cycle of a number of rebirths to complete before it is free. Each rebirth is a function of the karmas of the previous one - so the good and the bad - the home you are born into, your physical/mental abilities, joys, sorrows - are all a reflection of the deeds in the previous lives. If we try and improve ourselves consciously, we ae closer towards freedom from rebirths and the soul becomes free... So, I guess, a life well led now, sows the seeds for the times to come.

the afterlife is what you make of it here on earth.
if you believe in the lord here on earth you will have a great after life with much joy.
if you dont believe in the lord and practice his teaching's from the bible then your after life is doomed for ever, to burn in the fire's of hell.
your choice.

dont forget to get baptized , you cant enter the kingdom of heaven without being baptized.
