Im going down canal st in manchester on satuday night for my birthday. What should i wear and what shouldnt i wear? Last time I went everyone had trainers or shirts and jeans. I dont want to wear trainers but dont want to be over dressed. Please help. I wont be wearing a skirt or dress by the way.

If you want to dress up like a chicken then do it! It's your birthday. You should wear whatever you want. Doesn't matter if everyone else turns up lookin like a bo-hunk. You'll stand out which is what your day is all about. Have fun.

I always find on Canal Street that nobody much cares what you wear. It's also one of the places where you can knock around in your jeans and trainers or dress as flamboyantly as you like.
Go for something YOU like, that you feel comfortable and confident in. Then go out, knock back a few voddies and you won't care what you're wearing.
Have a great night (and bring a jacket, it'll be fekking freezing when you're trying to find a taxi!)

If you're not male and not gay, no one down there is going to care. I'd go for some nice jeans and your favourite top. Boots look nice under jeans, so maybe go for that. As long as you feel fab, don't worry too much. Isn't Manchester a dive anyway? I live there, I know!!

What about some smart dark jeans and a casual top but dress it up with lots of accessories (beads or a long pendant, plus bangles etc). You won't be overdressed but you will feel sufficiently dressed up, especially if it's your bday!
