Sunburn doesn't last long so I would just cover my back until it goes away. Also use Aloe on it to speed up the healing. Use sunscreen from now on, it won't only solve the burning problem, it will save you from a case of sun cancer. I know, my dad went for years not wearing a shirt in the sun until he developed a case. Luckily they caught it in time and he's been more careful ever since. Try a sunless tanning product if you don't want to wear clothes that cover your back until the burn is healed.

Here Comes the Sun: Protect Yourself
Elizabeth Brous, Contributing Website Editor

Whether you're hitting the slopes or basking at the beach, spending extra time outdoors can add up to major sun damage. To safeguard your skin—and hair—from the sun’s ravaging rays, put this head-to-toe protection plan into action.

Soak up the sun, but always use a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15. This means you can stay in the sun—without burning—fifteen times longer than if you weren’t wearing any sunscreen. However, using sunscreen should not be an excuse to stay out in the sun too long. Dermatologists recommend that you avoid going out into the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., when your shadow is shorter than you are tall. That’s when ultraviolet (UV) rays – the rays that damage your skin – are the most intense.

Look for a sunblock that says “broad spectrum” on the label to be sure you’re protected from both UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays are the main cause of the signs of premature aging and contribute to skin cancer, while UVB rays are the primary cause of sunburns.

Apply sunscreen liberally, using more than you think you need, about 15 to 20 minutes before heading out into sunlight. Dermatologists recommend using at least an ounce of lotion each time you apply – about the amount in a shot glass.

Not a fan of the oil-slick feel that many lotions can leave behind? Try new Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock (available in SPF 30 and 45), an ultra light formula that feels like you’re wearing nothing at all.

Carry SPF 30 Healthy Defense® Oil-Free Sunblock Stick in your purse, and you’ll always have protection on hand for those moments when you feel like basking in the sun.

Don’t forget to hit easily missed areas like the back of your neck, the tops of your feet and your ears. Protect your pucker with a coat of Lip Moisturizer. It soothes and conditions sun-parched lips and contains a PABA-free, SPF 15 sunblock.

If, for some reason, you still manage to get burned, try After-Sun Treatment on your sun-stressed skin. This cooling lotion uses the dry skin healing power of soy to help minimize the signs of short-term sun damage.

Help prevent sun-induced fading or brassiness by using a conditioner with a UV filter, like Clean Color-Defending Conditioner. Especially good for color treated hair, it also contains special color-locking moisturizers to help seal in your hue. You could also consider hiding your highlights beneath a cute hat or bandanna.

Protection is the key to having healthy skin – and hair-- all year round.

All I can say is to even out the tone the best you can.
The fastest way I've done it is to use baby oil on the white areas and a good protectant on the darker.
Don't fall asleep with baby oil!!!! You need to turn alot more when using this and try and have someone tell you how it looks, because you can't see the difference yourself, while out there.

Buy Natural Glo or another lotion that is supposed to help you get a "suntan" (Really those lotions are tinted, and when you use it for about 2 weeks daily, will look like you just got back from Disney World/land.)

Try having someone apply a sunless tanning creme or lotion to the oval area.
Don't do it yourself, it needs precision.
