A can of beer has around 257 calories on average. In order to increase your metabolism, eat small frequent meals throughout your day. No skipping meals. Create a healthy eating plan at www.mypyramid.gov
Also exercise for at least 60 minutes daily. Lifting weights is great for building muscle and increasing your metabolism.

I believe that your metabolic rate responds to your level of fitness. So get as much exercise as you can, preferably in the fresh air. Build up your stamina and speed gradually.

Your diet should also be excellent and you need to avoid the junk foods that clog up your system and sludge up your arteries. (Excessive fats, sugars and processed and refined foods).

Eat loads of fresh vegetables and fruit; eat complex carbohydrates e.g. wholemeal bread, brown rice etc. And don't eat too much protein. Excessive protein puts a strain on your system as it has to be processed and broken down into useful nutrition.

It's all about optimising your system. You could look at some supplements, too.

*while technically there are calories in beer, your body converts these directly into good times. any excess is excreted harmlessly from the body in the form of pain and vomit.
