I would definately recommend GHD MK4 - I had the MK3 before and think the extra curve on the MK4 styler makes the world of difference and also the new safety features are worth the extra money. I went to europe this past summer, and borrowed my friend's GHD flat iron for the 3 monthes I was there. It's the best flat iron I have ever used. In the U.S, the most popular ones are Chi, Hai, and T3 flat irons. I think the GHD flat iron is much better at straightening my curly, thick, frizzy hair. It has a computer chip inside the flat iron that keeps it on a constant 374 degrees, since GHD has found this temperature to be the best temperature to straighten hair. Any lower temperature, it will not straighten as well, and any hotter, it will burn hair. I have seen some irons go as high as 500 degrees F (this will burn!). This GHD flat iron has swivel plates and the ends are rounded so that you can curl your hair as well.

Nope get the MK3 which is better than sliced bread they improved it slightly but not enough to warrant the higher price as the old one is still wow wow wow.
Save your money and get her two pressies rather than one or buy yourself a few pints with the saving x

They are both great, the only advantage with the new model is that they turn off after a while if you forget to turn them off!! But thats all so save your pennies and get MK3 (what a great bf you are)
