Yes, any sweet/fruity smell attracts bees. So in the spring/summer its best to wear a non fruity smelling gel if you can find it.
Also don't wear yellow or clothes with flowers.

Try 1 of 2 things to check:
-leave an open bottle of it near a bee's nest
-WEAR the stuff near a bee's nest
Come on, you must know that bees/wasps/yellow jackets are drawn to all sweet scents, right?

You frequently will see girls walking around with a bunch of bees who will at first form themselves into an italicized exclamation point, and then angrily chase them down the hall for their hair gel.
