The best martial arts person is fedor since he's undefeated, as far as the real stuff goes.

In movies the best martial arts person is Tony Ja from Ong-Bak. He puts Jet Li to shame.

Given a choice of fighting Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell, Anderson Silva, George St Pierre or my favorite Spencer Fisher I would say wake me up before this dream turns into a nightmare.
Fighters like Diego Sanchez, BJ Pen or past champs Matt Hughes and Rich Franklin make choosing one guy tough.
Way to go Dan Henderson! Gutsy bout Dan and a fight I will never forget!
Give me any of those guy's plus Tito Ortiz, Ken Shamrock and Baroni and I'll march into Japan and use the Pride flag to strangle their hysterical sounding announcer sparing only Gracie trained nick Diaz from Stockton California.
UFC is no joke thanks to Dana White!
PS: Martial Arts is art not UFC.

No one is the best, but some of the best in their style are:

BENNY URQUIDEZ, he was one of the best kick boxers of all, he has a record of 64-0, 54 by way of knock out.

Ernie Reyes Sr. is a very accomplished martial artist in Taekwondo, one of the best. He was named Named "One of the Greatest Martial Arts Masters of the 20th (century)" by the TNT television channel.

And of course Antonio "Tatang" Ilustrisimo. He was one of the most well respected eskrimadors of the Philippines. He is famed for winning countless duels (never defeated) and street encounters, as well as serving as a guerilla against the invading Japanese forces during World War II.

BRUCE LEE was and will always be the best in his style. The Gracie's in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are a force to be reckoned with today though. Jackie Chan is fun to watch but never seen him in real combat.

Who is the best painter, or who is the best composer? These questions as well as yours can't be answered. It's art, and all subjective.

Fedor Elemineko, Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic, and Yamamoto "Kid" Nirofuma. They actually prove themselve in their fight.
