you haven't put a lot of weight on it for a long time,it will take time to heal properly.

If you're ankle has been in plaster for long, the muscle will have got weaker. It is bound to be sore for a while but exercise over time should be all it needs. Go to your GP if you're worried about it.

One responder mentioned shin splints - any chiropractor can prevent them.
Another mentioned that the lack of use means that it is weaker - muscles atrophy when not in use.

In addition to my other response... Be careful you don't over execise it by doing too much or you are then likely to suffer from Shin Splint... Painful muscle in shin... Just do a little exercise at a time...

I suppose it'll take a bit of time before it settles a bit and you start build muscle and fat around where it hurts.
