Mopane is part of the latin name.

This is for Undergrad engineering coursework. I have done some serious research through what is available and cannot find it.

Will need an answer within the hour if it is to be of any use.

Ta in advance.

Mopane is an african wood, from in and around Zimbabwe. It is a hard wood (a very hard wood at that).

You can never find the answer to that question since the material is of organic nature and is inconsistent. Also the range that it shows "elastic" properties is quiet small. However a statistical value can be found and the one you are using currently does not look bad. The important thing for you to remember is that given 100 samples of wood you will get 100 values for modulus.

This suggests you use a good safety factor that will take care of the inconsistent values. Good luck.
