I think some "sins" were called that because historically, they made sense e.g. no sex outside marriage unless you want lots of children/STDs. Now we have condoms, wahey!
Some religious people still like to uphold the fact that these things are sinful, because they don't like to think that someone might be having more fun than they are!
However, I don't much fancy murdering people for eternity - and that's a sin too, but probably not much fun, although I've never tried it!
