My wife wants to pose for nude photographs with a professional photographer and has asked me what I think of the idea. Until now, she has only posed like that for me and the photos we have taken have always been kept between the two of us. Whilst the idea is exciting for me, and I would definately enjoy seeing the resulting photos, I am uncomfortable about it. This is partly because of her being so intimately exposed to somebody else, and also because of what might happen to the photos after. It is not my place to forbid her to do anything, but she asked me what I thought and I want to give her a considered response without sounding too prudish. Has anyone else been in this situation and have any thoughts?

Just to clarify, she wants to get good quality photos taken, not poor ones. She has not found a photographer yet and is aware of the importance of finding somebody she (we) can trust. In terms of the photos being tasteful, I asked what she would like and she said they would be intimate and personal. She is still (rightly in my view) proud of her figure, and she sees this as an exciting opportunity. My concerns remain - perhaps I'm just old fashioned.

Once a pic is out there. there is always a risk of it being placed in the wrong hands.
Take pics of her yourself privately if you want.

I don t see a problem with it providing your wife feels comfortable posing being nude in front of the photographer.
You didn t state rather the photographer would be male or female which it seems to be the issue that so many people seem to have. The main thing is to be sure that you and you only get the memory card that the photographer is using to prevent the pictures from becoming public domain. I have taken many, many nude pictures of my wife and also when we were dating. I have even shown a few tasteful ones to very good friends because I m proud of my wife s body. People have too many hang-ups of being nude. We are all nude underneath our clothes. As a husband, you should be proud of your wife s body.
I realize your posting is old, but you got to let us know if you ever did go through with it. If so, did you find a good photographer. I would like to find a good photographer to take some nudes of my wife too.

First, make sure the photographer has a good reputation and good morals. There are good ones out there who do the right thing, then there are those who will "let the photos fall into the wrong hands," usually for a profit. If you are truly uncomfortable with it, tell her. Let her now that you support her, that you know her pictures will look beautiful, but that you are a little uncomfortable and a little jealous. When it comes to the thoughts of her being so exposed to somebody else, keep in mind that a true professional photographer won't see your wife as a sex object, he sees the human body as a beautiful thing, more of a work of art to be appreciated, not a sexual object to be ogled. I hope you and your wife can come to an agreement on this, respect each other and be happy!

Why need a professional photographer to take your wife's nude pictures. You already told that you took some of her nude pics. So you can take pics more and share each other. What is the reason to share your wife with other person. She is only yours, right? So keep her as yours.

My wife gave me as set of professionally done photos 10 years ago. They are a nice gift today when I see what she used to look like. The gift that keeps on giving.
The key here is professional. No one sees them later without a release. A Professional is getting paid for the shoot not selling the pictures later. As for exposure, a woman shot them. Mine are a nice collection of poses and aren't really sexual. Find a boudoir photographer in the phone book and go see them. They have the lights, the drapes, the costumes and the makeup to make a very nice album. Better than you can do at home and not at all cheap looking.
Go for it. You will be happy with them in 10 years.

Oh hell no!!!
I wouldn`t want my man to ever pose for nude photographs, unless I was the one taking the pictures with my own camera and within the comfort of my own home with the doors & windows firmly locked and the curtains drawn, know what I mean?
I`m way too possessive & jealous to tolerate having a stranger looking at my man`s naked body!!!
Even if it was executed within a professional environment.
Just tell your wife nicely that this whole idea is making you feel extremely anxious & uncomfortable and rather worried & on edge also.
But please don`t make the mistake of giving her an ultimatum because nobody likes being told what to do or being threatened by anyone, especially by somebody as close as a spouse.
If she loves you & respects you, your opinion & your feelings, she`ll listen to you and reconsider for sure.
Good luck with your intimate, delicate & personal dilemma!

See it all depends on one's mind attitude. In this world there are many models who pose for nude pictures which are getting published in many magazines but still most of them are married and are facing no problems from their husbands it is because those people have taken it for granted that it is the wifes professional duty and hence it is alright for them.

I think it all depends on what kind of nude photographs they intend to do. Some can be very classy and smart and others vulgar and provocative... Anyway it's a good thing that you can talk about it, I know I wouldn't do it if my husband felt uncomfortable about it all...

Your consideration that another man will see your wife should stop you in your tracks. But another thing to consider is that when a photographer takes a picture, that picture belongs to him. NOT you. Have you ever tried to get a copy of a picture taken by a photographer? Most places won't do it because the picture is not yours, even though it's OF you.
Be careful, I would never do such a thing.

Do you mean tastefully done nude photos. Tell her to go for it. She can always look back on them in a few years time and remember how great and sexy she was. A professional photographer will not release the photos to anyone else. On the other hand, if its smutty photos taken by a non reputable photographer you will be taking a chance in that they may appear in top shelf mags or the internet.

I think it's a marvelous opportunity. If the photographer is a professional, you have nothing to worry about. You'll probably love the results.
Go for it!
