That the sudden rise in Global Warming is due to the increase in volcanic actvity?
I watched a travel show the other night, and in the background I saw the top of a volcano smoking. The poeple started noticing it, and the camera switched
position. Why do they hide everything from us like we are frightened children?
Are we?

I for one am prepared to accept (within reason) what was said on the C4 prog last night - i.e. it's got a lot to do with what is or isn't happening with solar activity - that means the
Sun.

What amazes me about the whole "global warming" issue, no matter which side a person is on, is that people miss the obvious problem. Over-population. Simple math tells me that, less people use less resources. Less cars on the roads. Less crime. And surely less of everything.

Just how many people can the earth provide for? We have cities like New York that have over 40,000 police officers to try and control the people that live, basically, on top of each other. And all anyone hears from local government is how they want to expand even more so. That is absurd.

But I do agree that natural factors are to blame for increases to temperature. But, even, that being said, global warming is really a non issue in the big picture. Over population is though.

The obvious is easy to see, that is why it is obvious. It is the hidden things that are much harder to see.

Well, since global warming is happening throughout the entire solar system, I am having a very hard time blaming it on volcanos, or man, or a gigantic electric heater the size of Mars.

I am going to go with the sun on this one, since it is the most powerful heating source in the area. Maybe cosmic rays are a contributing factor. I even put on Hoagland's "hyper-dimensional" physics junk link down there for you, not because I believe it, but because it shows some of the stuff that is happening in the solar system.

If it makes you happy I am pretty sure that active volcanos on the average contribute more in one second, each one of them, than man ever has.

There have been warming periods before, no one is denying that. Near the end of the last ice age the glaciers around Alaska melted, creating the great lakes and spilling into the atlantic. The sudden freshwater caused a disruption in the north atlantic current and created a cold snap, rising out of which signalled the end of the ice age.

But what is significant is that volcanic activity and all other causes cited by people saying Global Warming is not our fault has already been recorded in ice in hte Arctic and Antarctic. Going back thousands of years they can measure the ambient temperate and snowfall during these periods. And stretching back to all of the history they record, thousands upon thousands of years, our current increase is HUNDREDS of times larger than those previous warming periods. Even more volcanically active periods did not produce this much warming, it is spiralling out of control. And it IS our fault.

I saw a Weekly World News that said a devil face was seen in the smoke of a volcano. I laughed my butt off!
Then a litle later, I was watching the real news about an eruption. They showed a picture of it, and I'll be damned if couldn't see an image if a demonic looking face in the smoke!
They hurried and cut it off!

Volcanos actually cause global cooling.
Seriously all these people are wrong. Volcanos cause global cooling as the dust etc actually BLOCKS sunlight.
Where as carbon dioxides allow sunlight in but do not allow it back out.
