There are 178 entries for Sevy in the Family Search site by LDS. From England, Poland, France, and many other places. This site is free.

There are 61 entries in the Ellis Island site, which is free too. You do have to register. A quick Scan shows that they came from London, Turkey, Skupa, Hamburg, Bulgaria and more.

The 1920 census says the early Sevy's enter the Country by way of Ellis Island, and the name Sevy means: habitational name from a place so named in Yonne, France.

I don't have specific info but it sure looks like a French town name
