Yes i think that you should guide him. Everyone is different and likes different things. Theres nothing wrong with giving him a bit of giudance, just tell him when he starts how you like it and if he does something thats really good make sure he knows about it. Also ask him his preferences and he may ask you yours in return. You dont have to knock his confidence but just push him in the rigth direction and he'll soon get the hint. Tell him that you like what hes doing but if he did it like this he would really get a good reaction!

Hi there, I have been in this situation too, it is difficult but can have great results if you are patient. You have to have his trust and you should never be less than complimentary. My tips are to take the lead and show him and tell him what is good, give lots of praise when it works (positive feedbback works wonders). Don't always take the lead though, let him feel like the boss too. Talk about what you like in conversations outside of the bedroom and encourage him to talk too. Use it as a learning experiance for both of you. Get him to teach you what is good for him while you teach him.
I wouldn't advise ever telling him he isn't a good lover, just work on it and make it fun!

I had this problem with an ex girlfriend..... I found the best way was not to say 'you do this wrong, 'you do that wrong' but tell them that 'this really turns me on this way'..... that way you are not criticising them but just letting them know what turns you on

All you can do is let him know what you personally like and he'll soon learn! Don't knock his confidence by telling him he needs to improve!

See in the intimate moments you can tell him your styles and he would naturally go ahead with it that all only you should come forward with your requirement otherwise how will he know it.

When you are "together," move his hands or other parts exactly where you like them to be. It will be better received if it is during the act or during foreplay.

Keep it playful, and make him think that what you are teaching him is his idea.
Plus take charge from time to time.
