My proud Muslimah friend, it happens more often than not on here especially. While there are a couple of muslims on here that do attack christians, hindus, buddhists, et al.. the majority of the attackers are from the christian camp.
They not only go after Islam, and other faiths, but they go after one another.
I wonder if this is really how they want to portray their christ?
Regardless, I agree with you. It isn't about taking a speck out, it's about respecting the difference.
Everyone needs that lesson.
Hugs and good morning to you!

It is, Of course, a human condition. Most people love to generalize. Such as, all Christians think the same. Or, all Muslims are on a jihad. Some people have come to a point that they only see what they want to see. And, the worst part is the television news. Most people can not use their own minds to understand that much of the news is about the view of the news network, or the person giving you the news, such as, many of the mainline TV networks, CBS, NBC, ABC, etc.
If people would just use their heads a little they would see how each person or network puts their own slant on the coverage. So, today in the US what do you think most people believe about Iran and how "all" the people of Iran are because of what Iran's president says? Probably a very high number. And the war in Iraq is all about "bad" Muslims wanting to kill anyone and everyone, yet most people can't see that most Muslims in Iraq have nothin to do with the violence. And isn't the new government mostly Muslims? And aren't the new Iraqi police forces and army mostly Muslims?
And so 9/11 happened. Most of the highjackers were Saudi's so all Saudi's are would be highjackers and since they were Muslims who claim to be on a jihad, then all Saudi's agree with this. Which is surely not even remotely true.
I have tried to express my views in my answers which show that with all the people of the world there is much more that makes us the same then makes us different.
Of course in your question you generalize to. "Christian bashing Islam" is in your question. Personally I think that few Christians actually bash Islam. But some do. And most "bashers" on here are just anti-religion.
I don't believe in evolution, so...........I must be stupid......and uneducated.........I am a fundie.............I hate homosexuals.......I am against womens rights...............I am intolerent.............etc and etc. Or many on here tell me, anyway. Many believe that each issue is a battle that needs to be fought and so will go along with anything and everything that is said bad about the other side, no matter how unreasonable or incorrect it maybe.
Peace.

Like you've said, its not all Christians who are ignorant to degrade other religions. Similarly, not all Muslims are respectful either....I've seen plenty of absolutely hate-filled questions from Muslims too. Every religious group has their share of ethnocentric, ignorant morons determined to f*ck things for everyone else, and then there are also sensible people who only want to live in peace with everyone.
Here on Y! answers, its not only religious differences, but also differences in nationality, ethnicity etc that is the subject of very extreme bashing. The relative anonymity allows people to vent feelings and anger they wouldn't dare display publicly. But its still a shame that such negative feelings, born of either ignorance or misunderstanding, exist at all.
The "log" in all our eyes is that we can't accept difference as just that, difference. We may have different faiths, different values, different appearances, languages, etc. but that doesn't make any group / individual superior or inferior.

Yeah, this is not something new and it isn't going to end any time soon, either. We know by now that the reason for asking questions which give an incorrect image of Islam is to ensure that most people continue to believe in the hate stories they have heard about Islam. More than 98% people would believe in every un-islamic non-sense that is uttered on either this forum or any other forum. None of them would bother to verify or cross-check. This is plain & simple ignorance & the only option we have is to continue to educate about our great, peaceful religion to whoever cares to listen. Inshallah we will be successful in removing prejudices sooner rather than later to a large extent, if not totally.

interesting analogy from the Bible, and New Testament at that. well that said, i've had my fair share of muslim and other non-christians bashing away at my faith too. Well, you ought to not sterotype christians just because you've seen a few here. i mean, christians here dont go around cursing at muslims just because of those radical islamic suicide bombers, do we?
When my faith is distorted and the person seems truly deluded and confused, i will try to explain things up. when the person seems like just another witty lame user, i'll simply report him whereby applicable, or simply ignore him.
you ought to do the same, and not ask debate-provoking questions like these, because unknowingly or knowingly, your question will, i believe, stir up some anger among christians and muslims here. And in turn, you might reply in hatred too.
To make things worse, biased non-christians then hop in the wagon to condem christians too. (proven by the last few answerers)
Whether or not you mean to do it, seems like your question has got everyone against christians, when that happens.
EMPHASISE: your question did it, im not saying you did.
And when that happens, are you not the one blowing the flames of hatred towards Christians?

a true christian should not come on and show hate to anyone. Tho a few do, out of frsutration. But, there are ppl from all positions that bash others. I dont believe in bashing, but I believe in discussing, and each of us having our rights to our opinions , if done in love. I as a Christian dont hate Muslims or anyone else. God loves us all, and I do too, adn I pray for everyone of every race and culture and religion, as God tells me to do. But, the reason many Christians get so upset about the muslims is form their teachings of their hatred towards non muslims. It is not we hating them.... Yes, we ALL should take the log out of our own eyes before we try to remove the spec from anothers eyes, but we cant do that, if our religion preaches the removing of others that dont believe as we do.
This happens on all sides... So dont just see when Christians handle it wrong, look at all the others too . Many come on showing absolute hate and filth to Christians. why is that? not all do that, as not all Christians bash muslims or anyone else. As Christians , we believe God gives full free choice to deceide who we serve and not serve. Live and let live, and pray for the others is how it needs to be. But, if one is wanting to destroy me for what I believe, I do think GOd understands it if we defend Jesus in the process and say He is the only way. as other groups can say theres is the ONLY way. The God ob the Bible says Jesus is the only way,but God dosent force anyone to believe that. Its choice, just let us ALL have our choice.

I've also noticed how many anti-muslim questions are posted. As a Christian I cannot see how this serves any purpose except to inflame already existing prejudices. You can believe you have the right faith and that the others are misguided but that does not give one permission to disrespect or denigrate another person's belief system.
Have a nice day :)

Very true. And Muslims are not the only ones they bash. Atheists, pagans, and anyone else not Christian.
Of course, I've also noticed Christians bashing Christians...saying stuff like,"You don't truly follow God if you are asking a question like that..." It is sad.

even if the Christians bash us, it is much better to just answer back with facts instead of getting personal, name calling, or getting angry. bashing solves nothing, constructive dialog is the way. all this anti Islam bashing has actually had a reverse effect, causing interest in what is being condemned , and as people learn more about Islam, having more people convert, making Islam a very very fast growing religion in North America.

I am a christian and I agree that some people in a passionate moment or not say things that are not nice and disrespectful, but I have also seen it the other way and it should not happen ! People (including myself) need to be aware the difference between judgement and discernment!
Unfortunately in an open forum like this you have no control only of yourself! :)
