Nobody says immigrants are criminals(all thou some probably are).
The argument is ILLEGAL immigrants are law breakers! Why does your side always try to confuse the issue?
Do you not understand the "difference" between legal and illegal, hint one is against the laws of our land...

I have never heard that immigrants are criminals. What I hear is that illegals aliens are criminals. If they come to the USA through the proper channels then they will be legal immigrants with rights.

I am a legal person in the USA and most people treat me with respect. Sometimes I do find ignorants that think I am illegal just by the way I look. This country opened its doors for me and I am proud because I did it the right way. People has always been warm and nice to me too.

The idea of your question is all wrong. We don't think immigrants are criminals, but instead we know that illegal immigrants are criminals. We have NOTHING against legal immigration. That is what this country if founded upon. If they did all those things you described I'd treat them the same way I treat any other legal citizen of this country.

Personally, I it makes no difference to me if they are a legal, or illegal immigrant. I couldnt care less, just dont steal my stuff and murder my family. Its too difficult to make generalisations on a person because of their immigration status.

As for xenephobia, people most likely wouldnt treat them any different. Other examples are the Arabs living in france and Sweden. The Turks living in Germany (although, they rightfully were the labourers used by the country to rebuild it after the war, they are now looked down upon, and find it very hard to get jobs, and those that have no status in Germany, to be able to move there). Not to mention the British dislike of Indian/Pakistaani people. They often come under violent abuse, dispite the majority of those immigrants being legal, and skilled migrants, (of which britain is in desperate need) which were helped under britains "highly skilled migrant programme" or "HSMP". (Britain doesnt have any land borders with anybody, except Ireland, so they can hardly complain of being flooded over large borders). All these groups are hated by the 'general population' or 'citizens of the country'. The majority are there legally, except for perhaps France, because of the boat-loads of people that come in off Northern Africa. They are still blamed for anything and everything, and any study that shows the opposite is deemed 'biased' by the public. (irony?)

So, not being America, or any European for that matter -- I would ask the question: Why, would Americans be any different towards their 'legal' immigrants, than towards their Illegal ones? They would be --the first-- (ok, maybe second or third...) to do that.

Societies need scapegoats...

Blame those that have no right to vote, thus, little say.

Its convinient.

You're question is ridiculous.

Because that's not reality.

Even legal Americans don't all behave well.

Your question is a blanketed way of trying to get people to sympathize with illegals who are too lazy to build their own country. If the early settlers could build America under threat of death from 3 empires and indian tribes and plague, why can't illegals do the same in their own countries? Or legal immigrants for that matter?

If it were different, and they were here LEGALLY, I would not have a problem. I have a whole family of Mexican friends, who came here LEGALLY, work here LEGALLY, pay taxes LIKE THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO, don't sponge of the LEGAL taxpayers, and are some of the best people I know.

I also know some who are the scum of the earth, a drain on the economy, and will come flat out and say, "I'm only here for the handouts," but when they go to see their caseworker, the story is, "Oh, I'm looking for work, and am applying for citizenship, blah, blah, blah." Yeah, f*cking right you are.

If you're LEGAL, then welcome, and come on in. Let's have a beer sometime. If you're NOT LEGAL, yuo have two seconds to get out of my face and stop spending my tax dollars.

Isn't it amazing how we pay taxes so others can afford shiny Chevy trucks and Cadillac Escalades, while we are driving around in old clunkers? I say we need to take some of these "purchases" that we've made back.

Ahh maturely, like the email you sent me making fun of my tribe -- the Lakota Sioux -- name, right? Anyway, I'll take my points and give you another truthful answer. I treat legal Mexican immigrants with respect, especially those who work at my ranch. They have earned the right to be in the U.S., and they despise illegal Mexicans more than I do, because they waited, sacrificed and spent alot of money to live and work here legally. They have their own social security numbers, and don't burden their fellow American taxpayers. Most importantly, they want to be Americans. Legal Mexican immigrants are very welcome, illegal aliens must go home.

Legal immigration is fine but illegal is not. I do no hate anyone that is a legal immigrant or the illegals for that matter. I just want them to come legally.

I don't hear anybody saying that immigrants are criminals. If someone is here illegally that is a whole different matter. Just the fact that they ARE here illegally means they are breaking the law, and by doing so, they are participating in criminal activity..
