exactly what is wrong with catholicism? please be specific

Catholics pratice so many wrong things when compared to the Holy Bible..

1. Being Jesus Christ is the only one interceeder between God and Man, Catholics make many other interceeder.
i. Pope
ii. Virgin Mary
iii. So many Saints.

2. No where in the Holy Bible it is said that Apostle Peter was a Pope in the Rome and ruled the Church. Yet Catholics say Apostle Peter was their first Pope though roman catholic church was found by Constantine.

3. Catholics teach the salvation is by good works and through catholic church, though Jesus Christ clearly said He is the only way to father and no good works will make one enter in to the kingdom of God.

4. Though Jesus Christ told there should none to call FATHER but God alone, yet catholics church call the Pope as Holy Father.

5. There is none else Holy than God the Heavenly Father, but catholics call Pope as Holy, call Holy Mother Mary.

6. Though Jesus Christ had earthly Brothers, through his mother Mary, Catholics teach she was virgin forever and the queen of Heaven. King of Heaven is God. By calling a woman as the queen of heaven, Catholics do BLASPHEMY.

7. To state that Mother Mary is stil virgin Catholics twist the meaning of Brother to Cousin. Though the Bible clearly say that Mary the Mother of Jesus Christ had other sons and Daughters, Catholics teach they were cousins of Jesus. Read Mark 6

1And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.

2And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

3Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

4But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

5And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

6And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

7And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;

Matthew 12:45-49

45Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

46While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.

47Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.

48But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

49And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

If the above said brothers were his Desciples, as Catholics teach, How could they come outside with His mother while they were still with Jesus Christ while he was preaching???


8. No where in the Holy Bible it is written Mary the mother of Jesus was taken to Heaven but Jesus Christ said I'll go to the father and prepare a place for you and then will come back and gather you. Still Catholics teach Mary has taken up to heaven and Interceeding to Her Son the Most High God. Thus Catholics teach Blasphemy by saying God is Born of a woman.


9. Catholics keep idols of Jesus, Mary and other so called saints in the place of worship and pray to them while Exodus 20: says;

1And God spake all these words, saying,

2I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

They justify the placement of Idols, saying it is to generate the thoughts of God in the minds of believers.

10. Jesus Christ have told, your prayers should not be as gentiles by vein repetation, Yet Catholics use prayer beeds like muslims and repeat the same prayer for certain number of times by counting with the help od beeds.

11. They pray for the souls of dead to make them acceptable to heaven, while the Holy bible says clearly that every souls will receive its reward for what it has done while they were in the Body.

A lot of what Rome teaches goes completely against what Jesus said, what the Bible says- calling the priests "Father", forbidding them to marry, praying to someone other than God.

In Revelation 17, 18 it talks about the Great Whore of Babylon, which very much points towards Rome.

I am Lutheran and it all started with Martin Lutheran about five hundred years ago.

His story is an inspiration to all Christians as he was not the only one who opposed the catholic religion or the power of the Vatican. Many people died for their faith in God..many who opposed the pope died horrible deaths.
Their is no easy answer for the reason man in inhumane to man but I believe that God knows best and the Holy Bible is the best place to get the answers you seek.

I hate to say catholics and christians because catholics are christians. A christian is simply a follower of Jesus Christ. Methodists, Lutherans, Baptists, Nazarenes, Pentecostals, are not different religions. They are different denominations each with a founding father usually who disagreed with the church of their time and started a "church" that fell more in line with how they saw the church or interpreted scripture. One of the reasons Martin Luther separated from the Catholic church of his time was the selling of penances for the salvation of those already dead. It was an attempt to raise money for the construction of different monuments, churches, projects etc. The thought that you could buy, or secure the salvation of a loved one totally went against how he read scripture. As for this time and age the biggest thing I as a Nazarene Christian disagree with in the Catholic church is the the practice of confession to the priest. In the old testament only the priest was allowed to enter the inner room to offer sacrifices for the sins of the people. People would confess their sins to the priest, provide him with the sacrifice, and the priest, not the laity would enter in and offer the sacrifice. People seem to go to the priest so he can intercede for them. In the same way people approach Mother Mary as an intercessor for them. Where in the Bible are we told that Mary can do anything for us? How many places in the Bible are we told to go directly to Jesus? When Jesus was crucified and resurrected he ushered in a new covenant and the old covenant, the one where only the clergy could be in God's presence, was gone. Very dramatically when Jesus died the curtain in the temple, the one that separated us from God, was torn in two. And as such we are able to enter into this new relationship with God. We no longer need to operate by the old standard of making our appeals through a priest. The Catholic church appears to be operating by the old covenant way of life. It also appears to be very salvation by works oriented. After confession the priest gives the confessor a set of acts to do as penance, hail mary's or whatever, once again we see Mary taking a place of prominence. In Romans we are told that "we are to approach the throne of grace in confidence that we may receive mercy and find grace in our time of need." There is no middle man, or woman, when in comes to approaching God.

Catholic clergy teach that Jesus IS God, and is Co-equal to God.
But what did Jesus say?

(John 5:19-20) Therefore, in answer, Jesus went on to say to them: “Most truly I say to YOU, The Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what he beholds the Father doing. For whatever things that One does, these things the Son also does in like manner. 20 For the Father has affection for the Son and shows him all the things he himself does, and he will show him works greater than these, in order that YOU may marvel.
