Regardless of the application you are using, Internet Explorer or Firefox, it sounds like the application has damaged folders that are restricting its functions.

I would uninstall the browser and do a clean download.

Firefox can be removed from add / remove programs and download again at http://www.firefox.com for the latest version 2.0.0.2.

If you have Internet explorer 7, I would try to revert back to version 6 by going to add and remove, clicking the show updates box at the top of the menu and searching for the Internet 7 add on. This will revert you back to version 6. Using version 6 you can therefore upgrade again.

The only other reason that all of you toolbars have disappeared (mainly for earlier versions of Internet explorer) is that you are running the explorer in no add - on mode.
In this case downloading a tool bar add on should work.

Try right clicking on the bar at the top of the internet page. When u right click it, click on customize and you can decide what tool bars you want to see also make sure that the standard buttons option is ticked.

Press and release the Alt key. The menu bar will temporarily be available. Go to view, toolbars, and then check mark the Menu Bar by clicking on it and you should be set.
