Wouldn't she feel better if she spent less time and energy in the kitchen instead of always cooking from scratch everything?

Its rare to find someone that can make food from scratch. Maybe its something she enjoys. I mean yeah ready made is good but its also rewarding to make something from scratch and have it come out great. Also, a lot of times, making it yourself is a lot more healthier and more delicious.

Cooking everything from scratch can be much better for you because you know exactly what is going in to your sauce - unlike ready made where they add things like flavour enhancers and extra things - usually to preserve the product that much longer - and these are not all good for the human being! There is also often too much sugar and salt, both not good. Cooking from scratch also tends to be much cheaper - and better for the environment - less chemicals, glass, plastic wrappers etc.
Cooking might be a thing that your wife enjoys doing. They say that cooking and serving food and watching the enjoyment is a form of showing love. She cares for you and your health to make sure you eat a healthy diet.
A rare breed indeed - worth preserving and treasuring! Go on and give her a big cuddle while she is stirring the sauce and let her know you really do appreciate her!

Is she not spending enough time with you,is that the problem ? Cooking from scratch is great ,in present times i would call it a gift or a talent ,if she has the time & she loves cooking,especially for you,give her all the praise you can & enjoy the food,nothing like a home cooked meal ,good & wholesome,perhaps when she is pushed for time she will opt for ready made sauces,bu t I doubt it.A die hard 'cook from scratch ' ; cook seldom changes.

Well, I think that it has a lot to do with education. If you are educated in a way that states that it is best to cook from scratch, then that is what you will do. Watching your own mother cook ingrains certain cooking habits in a person. It also has a lot to do with the fact that you know exactly what you are putting in your food. You never realy know what they put in the ready made sauces, especially when they use chemical terms on the package.
But if you realy want to know, you should ask your wife. ^

There are some things I use ready-made only because I like them, but for the most part it's home-made. it just taste better and it's really more healthier, these ready made sauces are higher in salt etc etc. Ask her to fix you some things ready made and you'll want her to go back to the kitchen real soon. Your wife sounds like a good woman..Your home must smell wonderful with all that home-made cooking!!!

Homemade is always better than store-bought or from-a-mix. Maybe your wife likes to cook. For some people (like me) it's relaxing. If she complains about cooking, yet does it constantly, then she's lying about it and she really DOES enjoy it. :)
Trust me, if she started using box/packet mixes for everything she made, you'd know the difference and you'd wish she would start cooking again. :)

It is much helathier, she is keeping your arteries clear of fat and a heart attack down the line.
She may take as much pride in her food as you would in your job or other aspect of your daily life. And cooking is also therapeutic, thre time spent in the kitchen maybe helps keep her calm and relaxed.

Anything homemade usually tastes better (and is more healthful) than anything in a can or jar. Granted, it takes more effort to make something from scratch, but maybe she's trying to show how much she loves you!

Some women enjoy cooking.And good tasting food, without all of the artificial garbage and preservatives that go in ready made stuff. And it may be her way of displaying her love for the family. Its a woman thing. Its all the love and care and the motherly instincts of a wonderful woman. She is proud of her ability to cook. And be appreciated for it. You should be proud also, to have a fine woman who can cook and likes to do it , out of her love for you. She probably enjoys being in the kitchen. I prefer making my own. It's healthier and I know what I am using for ingredients.
