A young Tyson with Cus D'Mato in his corner renders Marciano, in his prime and well rested, unconscious in three. Hand speed goes to Tyson, power too so Marciano would have to bring some brass knuckles and a protective shield into the ring just to survive.

It would be one heck of a brawl. I believe that Marciano's longevity would be the deciding factor. Marciano in his prime could take more punishment than Tyson in his prime. However I would say that Tyson has fought tougher opponents. But Tyson is generally no good after six rounds. I think that Marciano would win in easier fashion than some people would think.

This would have been a fightfan's dream! Man, I would pay a grand to see this thrilling match-up. Prime-to-prime, this wouldn't go over six rounds. Marciano would always come at Tyson with all that he has. Rocky has a tremendous heart; only, Tyson has tremendous power. Rocky may have power, but not as strong as Tyson.
Marciano may have been undefeated, but the greats he fought weren't in their primes anymore. He fought an ancient Archie Moore, a washed-up Joe Walcott, and an aging Joe Louis. You have to give him credit for handling Ezzard Charles, though. He was an explosive fighter! The only problem is his heart. His heart will only take him so far against Tyson's power. He charges towards you. That kind of style is a puncher's favorite since he doesn't need to chase the man across the ring and waste his stamina. Just look at what happened to Morales when he kept charging at Pacman. As for Tyson, he only charges towards you when he knows he can. He is smart. He wouldn't charge towards Rocky, or the tide would turn in Rocky's favor. Tyson would hit Marciano with power shots from afar. After wearing him down, Tyson will go inside and then upststairs. Then, it will be lights out for Rocky.

Great question...

I can't see this one lasting beyond eight rounds, and in this day and age, would have been massive at the box office. Marciano would throw everything at Tyson, and try and do what he did to Walcott in their epic thirteen rounder - hit Tyson anywhere and everywhere. Rocky had the heart that Tyson didn't have. Tyson had the speed of foot and hand that Rocky didn't have. Rocky had power, and could throw potent single shots, but was about 25 Ibs smaller than Tyson, and did not have Tyson's power. The heaviest Marciano ever was was 192 Ibs in 1951. Tyson probably weighed about that when he was 13 years old.

Therefore, I don't think Rock, circa 1953 would have taken out Tyson, circa 1984 to 1988 - it would have been the other way round.

For me, this would be an explosive fight, with A fired up Tyson landing shots from afar, using his superior technique to block and evade Rocky's bigger Shot. Rocky is willing to try and trade with Tyson early on - a bit too willing. By the third, Tyson is seeking to bob and weave his way inside to the body, and try and land to the chin with montrous uppercut bombs. Rocky ends up calling on his determination and heart to pull himself off the floor a few times, before Tyson knocks him out in the 6th or 7th Round.

I lean toward the Rock, as hard as that is to believe.
The guy would cut ALOT, but never quit. Tyson would be faster no doubt.
But Tyson had a so-so chin.
Prime -prime, you mean a natural Rocky circa 1955 vs. a roided Tyson circa 1985? A natural Tyson is not 220 pounds at 5' 10 tall.

Rocky Marciano defined heart, Mike Tyson quit on his stool against an aging club fighter.

Marciano would have exposed Tyson faster than Holyfield did, Halpern couldn't have stopped Rock, they would have carried Tyson out on a stretcher.

Marciano and Tyson were both rocked by punches thrown by their opponents and were knocked down. Marciano got up used his defense and found a way to win the fight. He knocked out the fighter to win the fight. Tyson got up didn't know how to defend himself when hurt and found a way to lose the fight. He was knocked out. Marciano by KO 3 rounds. Tyson had no heart.
