BTW I ment that a hijab and bekishe are required, so don't count a "flamboyant displays," since they aren't over the top for members of those religions.

Perhaps it could be, but I think we should not be quick to judge people. Even if a particular thing is not required by a religion, one may want to do it because they feel they benefit from it, or come closer to God through the practice. There is always a potential when it comes to visible religious practices that it will be abused by people seeking attention or praise. But there is also the possibility that people choose those activities for pure reasons. So we should give people the benefit of he doubt in my opinion.

Is how you dress flamboyant display of religiosity?
What about public self-flagellation, cutting, etc. etc. then?
That really takes some faith ... and guts!
