i recently bought a computer from dell. when i bought it, one of the programs was microsoft office. i was able to use it until today. when i tried editing one of my documents in word, it said that the document was locked. i was not able to do anything with the document. it also said that i have to convert to the full software and asks for a product key. didnt ms office come with the computer when u buy it?? ive had the computer for about 2 months.

Well either It should have come with the office disks that came with your computer. If you cant find it with any of your stuff that came with the computer, Then I bet that dell is selling their computers with trial software on them that expires after a few months. Id contact them and find out. It sounds like they cheated you if they did that.

I in fact care not for MS Office, for a 110% compatible (I do mean 110) free product get OpenOffice.org for Windows.

That should get your document open, unless the problem is deep in Windows.

It sounds like you need to call Dell. If it is a software issue, then you should still be in warrenty (3 year). Unless it only comes with a trial, which i doubt. Call Dell.

http://astalavista.ms and in search tab write as "ms office" they will provide u a key ... insert and enjoy ..

You were able to open it 40 times. you need to register it, it can do it over the internet or you can phone them. It will give you a number over the phone.

To do this:
open word
click help
click register

There it will give you all the options there

Get a hacked copy of office , you can use bitlord and find a torrent. ;)

return the computer and buy a mac.
