Ours will be an Oct wedding. Are we stuck with black ones?

Absolutely NOT! You may wear any color you like (including bright red if you so choose, though you might get some strange looks for that one) at any time of year. There is no etiquette on the color of a man's suit when getting married.

My fiance and I are having an October wedding as well and he will be wearing Platinum (to match the sash in my dress). I have been doing weddings a while now and have never heard anyone make comments about the groom's lack of etiquette by wearing a certain color.

Congrats on the upcoming nuptials.

No your not stuck with only black tuxes. But I've always figured that not only does the season matter but where getting married. If your doing an Oct wedding at a beach then that would be lovely with the champagne colored tuxes. Also remember that some guys are complete slobs and you don't want them renting a tux that is going to get stained! If you like the color champagne, then try doing the vest and cummerbund in champagne and doing the tuxes in a beautiful brown or even dove gray. All very beautiful. But it is your wedding, so do what you want.

Congrats!!!

To answer your first question, Yes. However that,s left to your decision.

To answer your second question, NO. There are various colours that can be chosen as opposed to black. Since your wedding is in October ( keep fall in mind ), I suggest choosing a fabric of a more earthy colour.

If you want to do everything in the proper way...the answer would be yes it is too late for such light tuxedos. It still doesn't mean you are stuck with black. What time of day is your wedding and is it formal or semi formal? Grey could be an option, depending on the aforementioned questions i asked.

I would say so..Too light for fall wedding. If you don't want black, the colors for fall would be chocolate brown with brown satin lapels, cream ruffled shirt, brown satin cumberbun, which would be dynamite, charcoal gray, midnight blue. You do not have to choose black. There are a variety of tuxedos now. Check out the stores that carry tux's. See what they have to offer...Good Luck

thats beautiful, champagne is one of my fav colors! but i never thought of it as a tux color! dont listen to that "cant wear white after labor day" type crap.

its YOUR wedding! do whatever the hell u want....duh! its gonna be memorable and hopefully the ONLY wedding u ever have! so u get to decide everything! well as long as you and your spouse agree that is.

not if you can find the color you want however you are looking at an october wedding which means stronger colors are more prevalent you may have issues finding those colors start checking around now and see what you can find and if that color is still available in October

I don't see anything wrong with your choice. I wouldn't want to marry a penguin, either ;) Brown and blue and ruffled shirts and satin lapels and all that is tacky. Grey (platinum) is another option if the brides gown is white.

Basically, it's your day, it should reflect your tastes.

Congrats to the two of you!

yes, but there are lots of other options than black. Have your guy check catalogues in the local tux shop.
