Hi:
Try to find some friends that support you to chat with and bolster your spirits. I think everyone could use more friends to chat with. Everyone has something to offer, no matter if a few individuals don't recognize that. It sounds like the person may be a relative. Try to ignore the berating chatter - take an ipod and leave the ear plugs in, and when they start griping, and may want to pester you, and may say 'are you listening to me?!' you could pull one of them out and say 'oh, I'm sorry, did you say something?' - that might make them crazy! ;)
Try to spend some time outside too, in a park with other people, visit a nice museum with a lot of art you might like, to help to maybe make you feel better.
I highly encourage you to also take up an artistic pursuit, and maybe look into taking a continuing education or art class. Almost every artist I have ever met is a highly friendly and supportive sort, so you might find some more fun friends that way. One of the most fun things I have done in the past few years was to attend a ceramic raku firing. It was so interesting to watch the pieces fired in the raku kiln, and everyone was preparing their piece to be fired. When the ceramic pieces were fired to glowing, they were removed from the fiber blanket type kiln, and plunged into a metal garbage pail filled with paper and other combustible materials, and instantaneously, the materials burst into flames, and were covered with the lid and a wet blanket to seal in the smoke. It was so cool.
Anyway, also if you happen to be an artist, check out the wonderful online artist community, wetcanvas. Basic membership is free, and there are currently more than 100,000 worldwide members.
I truly hope this helps you, and please feel better!

If at all possible try and not see this person, and if you have to see them, just remember that they are an "abuser" as you stated, therefore beneath you. If you have someone you could talk to,family member, pastor, or seek a mental health professional. Life is short enough as it is, don't hurt yourself over this. Life always has its ups and downs. Just remember that tommorrow is another day and that it will always get better. Think of past experiences and you will see that this is true. For now, if you are really considering suicide, call a 1-800 help line. I don't have a number but go to www.postsecrets.com, it is listed there. There will be someone to talk to you anytime. Stay strong.

Well if they do make you feel that bad just try to tell them straight out you don't wanna see them anymore. You don't HAVE to put up with this persons abuse. Why should you ? What gives them the right to be nasty to you ? You need to be strong, do what's right for YOU. Hold you head up high and be around people who make you feel good about yourself and life. Things can get better ! I know it's hard, I've just been told I've got depression and that I have to see a phycologist. Yeh I'm scared about opening up to the person but Im trying to be positive, it WILL help me. Just hang in there and be positive. Take baby steps to recovery and you'll get there in the end ! Good luck hunni xx

Oh boy oh boy!! You sound like me when I was living with my father. I delt with it by staying quiet as possible, agreeable as possible and I didnt worry about my own dignity at the time because I knew I was going to be out of that situtation someday and free from this abuse. I moved out of my fathers house as soon as I graduated from High School but I was pretty messed up for a long long time. I think if I had someone I could trust to talk to at the time it was happening I would have coped better but thru the years I realize that I am okay. I truly understand your situation and want you to ask yourself a few questions.
l) Is there any way you can manage to get yourself away from this abuser without having to resort to running away from home (assuming you live with someone else)? Is there a councelor, teacher, family member that you can trust?
2) Do you fight or argue with this person? Arguing with a person like this is totally useless. Useless. This person will only undermine your confidence every single time. Believe me, if he/she says "its going to rain today" and you repeat "its going to rain today" I assure you, you will be corrected even tho you just repeated what that abuser just said.
3) Do you honestly feel suicidal? Please call a suicide hotline or call your local mental health center. Giving up is only one answer-- that is a pretty permanet one. I ask that you take your hurt and frustration and filter it into action. Not action against the abuser (because it is useless), not action against yourself, but action to get help from someone you trust or a hotline or a mental health center.
Bless you and please believe me, you can make this better and you have begun just by reaching out with this question. Please dont turn to drugs or alcohol to numb the pain. This will make you stronger and take each moment at a time. You can do it. Im thinking of you.

Sorry Crista but I have no idea how you were abused. You should always report cases of abuse to the relevant authorities like the police and get a medical report within reasonable time. You will not just be doing it for yourself but also others because if abusers are apprehended, they will serve as examples to would-be abusers.

one you need to get the heck away from that person all together or you,r gonna end up dead or something. also you need to talk to family about this and get some outside help as soon as possible ok. no one can tell you how to stand up to someone because most likely you,r not gonna take there advise . only reson i say that is because if you were gonna take someones advise you would of already stood up to whom ever this person is . i was suicidal not that long ago but i checked my self iin and got me some help with it thats your first step to helping your self is admitting you are suicidal and you just did that to us. now you need to go get help a/s/a/p ok . dont let him / or her push you around or mentally abuse you no more ok.

Hi, there is only one person who can help you in this type of situation, and i'm afraid its yourself. These types of people pray on poor people like you, they control you because you allow them to, not intentionally. You need to realise that you are worth something and that it is this person who has a problem and not you.
You are not worthless and you can do things right, take a look in the mirror and really look at yourself, never let anyone treat you bad.
I hope that you find the strength to break away from this person.
Best wishes xx

any sort of depression can be tide over by faith in GOD and sincere prayer.
Your prayer is from your heart. Further You must have to understood the fact that God is present in our heart. This can be realised in meditation. Further we are the creation of our own destiny. As per Hindu sacred religion, we carry all good and bad deeds life after life. There is no end unless we pray for unification of self with the divineliness.
Hence there is always a possible way to complete mergence with God in this life by a simple and wonderful meditation

If you are in the US, there are many places for you to go if you are in an abusive relationship. Its not acceptable for him to abuse you. Call the police. Find out what womens resources there are for you for help with this. Dont commit suicide over this ahole, your life is worth more than that.

Get away from them, by all means necessary if its that bad. You dont go into alot of details, as far as your age, their age etc. But if they are older, call a relative, call the police, there are alot of options out there. It might not seem like that at this point, but I promise you, there are. If you dont get any other help, send me a message, and I will try and help you the best I can.
