girls like a guy who is confident but how can you be confident without being cocky or arrogant.

I think they are the exact same thing just depends on who's judging. One may say cocky the other may say confident.

It's a fine line with some women, but there are some standards that are pretty much universal. Talk and act like you know what your doing and not nervous or shy. Don't act like your best thing in town and any girl would be lucky to be with you. You must be humble, but also confident in yourself and abilities. Don't brag. Women mast of the time do not care. All they are worried about most of the time is are you going to treat them right.

Don't brag and act like you're God's gift. Confident is being comfortable with who you are. Cocky is like over advertising.

cocky is confidence with a bad attitude. where the guy (or girl) just KNOWS they're better than everyone and no one is good enough for them.
confidence is where you know you are good ENOUGH for someone, you believe in yourself, and feel overall very good about who you are inside and out. you don't have an attitude about it, you're still nice to those that may not be as "good" in whatever way as you, and you are still warm and friendly.

being cocky is like bluffing in a poker game.. do too much and your game is over, too little you're not going anywhere, and the right amount might get you some points.

being confident means to show ur knowledge in a proper way but not showing it off all the time no matter it is needed or not.

Depends how you treat me. If you seem either of those ways you mention to me to hurt me I will not like you. But if you treat me with something i like/love i will enjoy your company/comfort. As long as you can give me the gift from your heart and treat me well from your heart for me only.
