so isn't lortab just tylenol. wouldn't you get the same feeling if you took a few tylenols?

No, Lortab is not the same thing as Tylenol. Lortab is hydrocodone, a narcotic, and acetaminophen (Tylenol). The hydrocodone is what helps with the stronger pain. If you took a "few extra" Tylenol, all you'd accomplish would be damaging your liver.

No, I don't get same feelings when it comes to the issue of controlling my pain with just a few Tylenol as I would with taking the Lortab as prescribed by my dr.

As the other poster said it's a combination of hydrocodone (aka Vicodin) along with Tylenol in one tablet.

Lortab is hydrocodone/acetaminophen which is vicodin/tylenol. It is a narcotic, whereas, tylenol is not. So the answer to your question is no, you will not get the same pain relief from Tylenol as Lortab.

lortab, I think is like a single or double vicodin, some are very strong but all are narcotic and much stronger than a tylenol,
