I have a 7 year old and loves to draw and write as well. Crayola Explosions is cool. It's black paper and it has a hidden pattern until they draw something using the markers that come with it. Tracing paper and books to teach her to draw figures. I think crayola makes an art easel with paints, paper markers, pencils.......molding clay....FLOAM...I hope you find that special gift for your daughter. Good luck
I know that technology is the way of the world and everyone has to have everything new when it comes out. I personally would rather have my child interested in the art, and crafts that are made by them.....an ipod..what the hell do they ned that for?? the t.v. has already been known to be a babysitter, I wouldn't want my child sitting in a chair all day listening to all the crap music that is out there.
A childs creativity is far more impressive to me to see what they have made then to hear them singing, "Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me" or any of that **** that is just really not for children.

7 years old, she can handle something unique, but not too complicated. Go to Michael's, think 10 or 11 years.

I agree with an art station. Let her creative juices flow, let your kids go with what they are into.
