because the main ingredient is what is in ny quil, tylenol pm , anything to make you sleepy. people are addicted to drugs that make them drowsy and want to just sleep

First, it's the decongestant pseudoephedrine that is used to make crystal meth, not an antihistimine. And I guess some people keep taking them so they can breath and not blow their nose every 5 minutes. I guess that could be considered an addiction.

I don't think people do!
Pseudoephidrine, an ingredient in antihistamine medication, is a stimulant and users of antihistamine medication MAY become addicted to the effect this gives, although it is mild!
Want to avoid what little risk there is of getting addicted to antihistamines? Look for medication that doesn't have pseudoephidrine in.
I take whatever hayfever medication I am prescribed and have NEVER found myself in the throws of addiction!

One could argue that some people have an addictive personality. They can become hooked on almost anything. There are a TINY number of people who are the exact opposite and are unlikely to become addicted to anything.
Remember you can even become addicted to exercise, I probably am a little, I have seen such people get in to real trouble, and gambling is a well known addiction,so you don't even need a pill.

They are probably making Crystal Meth in their basement...
One of the key ingredients to manufacturing Crystal Meth is cold remedies and antihistamines...
I think they are an "upper".
The drowsy effect is from the sleep aids that are mixed with the "night time" versions of these drugs... some people might just be addicted to those and want to sleep or feel "slow and relaxed" all the time.

I would just like to thank all those idiots for that. Now when I am sick I have to wait in line at the store, show my drivers licence, give a signature, everything but a urine sample. Just so I can have some meds. So thanks to all the addicts for ruining it for everone else!!
