Our current reality being the time that we are living right now OR in reality- a space, time and experience we will never have because we don't live in reality (at least not yet...I guess)

depends on the context in which it is said. Sometimes when I say "but in reality" I mean a spiritual reality that is more lasting and more real than our current understanding of our "now" reality. And sometimes I mean that there is a truth behind the facade that is presented as truth. It just depends on the context.

They usually mean, as opposed to how it ought to be, or how it would be if I designed it.

A lot of people theorize about worlds where only good things happen to good people, and bad people meet with misfortune, and Trickle-down Economics benefits poor people, and other fun stuff like that. But sooner or later you have to return to THIS reality, in which we all, unfortunately, must dwell. This is the fundamental limitation of both economics and theology.

No. They are referring to their own current reality, which is sometimes very different from "our" current reality.
