You are examining your navel, wasting your time thinking about this. There is no effortless way to loose weight other than not lifting the fork as many times. Over sleeping has virtually no effect on weight loss. Under sleeping can cause some slight gain in weight but it is such a small factor that you should forget about it. You need sleep for many reasons including healthy skin and nervous system so don't try to change your sleep amount as a diet aid.

This notion that exactly 8 hours sleep is right for everyone is nonsense. You need to sleep until you no longer feel sleepy. That could be anything from 6.5 to 9.5 hours.

Fad diets can cause temporary weight loss because you are put off from eating the new diet routine that includes foods you don't usually eat and since you have decided to avoid the old group of foods, you loose some weight until you get used to it. Then you are back to eating more of the new diet foods and get fat again.

Wierd diets such as the low-carb diet will cause some weight loss for most people but they are very unhealthy since they load you up on excess fat and protein which puts a great strain on your heart and digestive tract and can lead to colon cancer. The best diet is to follow the American Herat Association's nutrition pyramid, eat less and exercise more.

Remember this wise old saying, "Never ask a fat person how to loose weight."

If u body weight goes beyond the desired levels with permissible variation, the systems will start giving u trouble.

Eat healthy and not junk food only when u r hungry and that too not more than three times a day. No Solid/Liquid in between except water. Chew each morsel of food 32 times and see the beneficial effect it has on u. U get clear message to stop further eating.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

This will enable u to achieve the ideal weight in a reasonable time.

it can effect it both ways, sometimes you burn calories while your sleeping so your losing weight, other times your just sleeping on those cals when you could be up and working them off. the key with weight managment and sleeping is to just get plenty of sleep, not too little not too less. I think 8 hours is the right time

I think one reason sleep affects your weight is because when you are tired from lack of sleep you make poor food choices. You are wanting something to give you energy and that is the high carb or high fat and sugar foods. If you are well rested you can think more clearly and choose something good for you instead.
