We Indian Bengalis in Eastern India don't consume sea fish so much, but we have more of river and pond fish. But I had heard that sea fish is better for the heart. Is it so ?? Please suggest !! I prefer sea fish though.

Sea fish is better for the heart. Omega-3 fatty acids are very good for heart health, so any fish is excellent. The quantity of omega-3 fatty acids happens to be greater in sea fish than in river or pond fish, and the fatty acids are also more numerous in the fish's upper body regions as opposed to the tail or lower half. Keep eating fish.

It's the Omega-3 fatty acids in the fish oils that are very good for your heart health. You can also take capsule supplements of this. I did a web search on this not long ago, and remember that sardines and salmon were on the list of good sources, and also walnuts! Try a search of "Omega-3 fatty acid sources" to get more.
