God does discourage defiling your body, however, I don't remember reading anywhere in the Bible that if you get a tattoo, piercing, implant, etc. that you will be condemned to hell. Remember, it is your heart that counts. Whether you have accepted Christ into it... that is what God looks at. God doesn't see us the way other people see us. He looks at us from the inside. I really don't think He's concerned with tattoos all that much.

Hardly, many ancient civilizations used tattoos as symbols of protection, fertility, etc. Tattoos are an expression of self and should be carefully thought out. They should have a deep and powerful meaning to the person getting the tattoo. After all, it's permanent, unlike Henna tattoos.

That's a wrong belief. U won't go to hell if u get a tattoo. But I believe u shouldn't get a tattoo b/c what if u don't like it couple of months, years, after u get it. I've few friends who have tattoos and regret getting them, but they are stuck b/c laser is expensive to get rid of them. Also, from a religious point of view, don't temper w/ ur body. Our bodies are temples to the holy spirit.

Good question, with many different thoughts and opinions. I have had this conversation with many others. Some believe since your body is only a capsole that carries your soul that it does not matter, others thoughts are that it is a shrine that carries your soul. The egyptions decorated their shrines and temples, just as many do with tats. I believe only god knows whats inside you and the reasons for it.. If it is to show off to try and be cool, or carry a negative message than I believe it to be wrong.

I know some religions forbid tattoos because their holy book considers it to be body mutilation--you won't be able to be married in their building if they know, and you definitely won't be buried in their cemetery.
I personally believe that our bodies are just that-- OURS. We express ourselves through our bodies by what we wear, what we say, gestures and expressions. There's no reason a person cannot go a step further by expressing themselves via art on their body.

i beleive that salvation is reached thru believing that Jesus is the son of God and that he died on the cross for all of our sins. asking for forgiveness of our sins and receiving Christ into your heart is the only way to gain entry into heaven. different people believe different things but i guess it's all about what you believe. i have tattoos and am not concerned about going to hell because of them.

Well if that's the case I'll see some of you in hell. I'll be the one with the Jack Skellington face and three quite originally fairies on my back.

If you ask me we are all in hell, because in heaven nobody has the time to pass judgment on anyone else. Their all kick-in back having the time of their lives with family. So you know what don't worry about what anyone else says, you do what makes you happy. cause in 2Pac's words, "ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE YOU!"

Only God can judge us. And if he is that cruel that he would send us to hell for drawing pictures on ourselves, and disregard the rest of our lives, I think I'd rather be in hell.
