Many Atheists will say they hate or don't believe in the God described in scripture, but when their lives are at risk, or a truamatic event takes place, they will say "God help Me" or something similar?
Or people who practice religions or beliefs which do not acknowledge the God in scripture, will do the same thing. What does this say about their non-belief in God?
Why not call on the Goddess Tree, the God earth, Budda, moon, sun, the latest new age guru, or the many other things people choose to worship when times are not that bad?
Anyone else notice this? Not all Atheists and non-christians do this, but a lot of them do.

Eldad my question explains that I'm referring to those who do not believe in the God Christians embrace. Also, TheResurrectionist, I've personally seen people who were Atheists cry out in hospital rooms, or call Pastors or Priests when their health began to decline or on their death bed. Trust me...it's not unusual.

Melanie of course someone will call a doctor, nurse, or medic when ill. However, when those professionals can not help, who do many people call then? That is the point I'm attempting to make. You'd be surprised how many peole call God's name when NO ONE else can help them.

DS one can work around people in need daily, but sometimes earthly help is not what people need, and only the Lord can help them. Medical professionals are limited in many situations, regardless of how skilled they may be.

What is the basis of your claim that a lot do. What imperical data do you have to support this claim?
You are making very generalized statements that are just not supported by facts! Additionally you clearly do not know what the word Buddha even means or what Buddha said when asked what he was. A Buddha means an enlightened one. What Buddha said when asked what he was is I AM AWAKE!
The Sun, Moon, trees and earth are more real then a God but they will be no help to you in an extreme situation! To call on them would just be STUPID!
What Atheist would waste there time with such nonsense? Sounds more like the stupidity of a Theist!

How little do you know of world religions? Monotheistic religions have a single god. Calling upon a single god does not make a person christian. Trees? Earth? Moon? Sun? Huh? The buddha was a teacher, not a god.
Also: Some people are agnostic, and some are just using a common phrase. Like saying "oh s****" when there is no actual s*** involved.

Because they get scared and irrational. Near-death experiences will do that to some people. It doesn't make the concept of "god" any less logically impossible. It just means that people are people.
And AGAIN, I don't see why you say this. Do you have a lot of experience with dying atheists? Are you around a lot of terminal non-believers?
Do you know what pre-eclampsia is? Do you know what it can do to a person? Do you know how frightening it is to lie in a hospital bed, thinking you're going to lapse into a seizure and die before you can give birth? Yeah... it's scary. And you know what? It doesn't make the concept of a "god" any more real. No matter how frightening a near-death experience may be, Jesus and Yahweh are STILL - NOT - REAL.

I'm just wondering how you know this to be a fact? Are you around a lot of people in dire situations? If so, why aren't you helping them? I'm guessing you've heard a couple of stories, saw it on TV and just assumed it's the norm. I doubt that anyone raised with a different set of gods would pray to the Christian God. And I'm sure Athiests in India, when faced with a desperate situation probably pray for salvation from Hindu god or goddess.
Besides, "God, Help us" is about as religious as "God, will you please shup" and "Oh God, what happened?" You're assuming too much. You should be asking yourself why do so many Indians pray to Shiva

If you are talking about sayings like, "God help me" and "Thank God" then that's just part of the language and has nothing to do with someone's beliefs.
When people are in a crisis they turn to their belief systems for comfort or peace or guidance. People from non-Christian religions call on their deity when they are in trouble. And if you think that's not true then that's just because you are arrogant and want everyone to believe in your god. Do you really think a Muslim is going to start praying to the Christian god when they are dying? Don't be ridiculous.
Those of us who have beliefs about morality and existence that include agnostism or atheism or something completely different and non-denominational turn to those beliefs. We find our comfort and guidance in those beliefs and don't need anything else.
This idea you are speaking of, of people converting on their deathbed or praying to the Christian god when they have a problem only apples to people who don't have any real beliefs. They are just desperate for something to believe in and turn to the religion of their childhood or whatever is the main religion in their country. Which happens to be christianity here but if they lived in Thailand they would become Buddhist so it has nothing to do with Christianity in particular.
What I would like to know from you is why so many Christians stop believing in the Christian god when something bad happens? I've known people who were all into their church and trying to convert people, then someone died and they said they didn't believe in god anymore. If Christianity is where people turn in crisis, why do these people turn away in crisis?

Why the utter lack of expertise?! Atheists understand there are not any such issues as gods so as that they does no longer, certainly could no longer, be hindu or Muslim yet they can persist with any faith that does no longer have a god and Buddhism is the biggest of the atheist religions!

You are just assuming that I think it is a lie. I have never known it to happen. Name one time you have personally experienced it happen. An Atheists will never say he hates God. Atheists don't believe in God how can you hate what does not exist. Atheists only hate Christians like you who try to discredit them.

I beg your pardon? I would *NEVER* call on your God's name. I would rather eat glass. I have been in terrible situations and hard times, and never once have I called on Jesus' name for to do so would be an affront to everything I believe in and would be blasphemy.
I'm Asatru, if I am going to pray to any Gods, it will be the ones that my Heathen ancestors trusted and the ones I have my faith in, the Æsir and Vanir.

When a Christian is wounded in battle what is the first thing they cry out?
“MEDIC”
WHY IS THIS? Is it because a medic may keep them alive long enough to get real medical help?
Where is there god then?

It's just a figure of speech, something that's common in the vernacular. I'm not praying, or asking for help from some supernatural being.
