Have you consulted your doctor?
If in doubt, look into wing chun kung fu, tai chi or even traditional karate.
As long as your doctor approves, and the sensei is aware of your condition, it should be fine.
Good luck!

Definitely. I would recommend starting with Tai Chi which can move very smoothly into Kung Fu. Tai chi is the internal form of Kung Fu so they'll work well together, but the cool thing would be that you can start slowly and feel where your limitations might be and then push yourself to that level, but not past. You will be surprised if you learn tai chi at a traditional martial arts school & not the the group in the park kind of school how good of a work out you'll be getting.

Go watch some classes. Ask to observe their sparring practices.
Report what you see to your doctor, seek his professional advise.
If impact is an issue then you may wish to study a non-contact style like Tai Chi without application.
If extreme cardio workouts are a concern then Tai Chi may also be a good choice. There are also some schools in karate that do zero contact. Overall Tai Chi is a good choice for people that have physical conditions that may otherwise inhibit higher impact training.
But no matter what, communicate with your physician on the subject.

Tai Chi Chuan is primarily low cardio with slower movements followed by quick bursts of power. It's based off the Shaolin school of Kung Fu.
You can find many schools that will slow your training down a little so that your heart rate doesn't race. I assume if you're young that you just need to avoid racing heartbeat but that you can elevate your heart rate a little? If you can't elevate your heart rate above your walking heart rate then the only for you is Tai Chi. If you can slow jog, climb stairs, etc then you're safe with many arts if you notify your sensei.

Well all things aside No I dont think we will let you.
Sorry
Just kidding man!
Look you would do best by studying an internal disipline , something like Taiji Chuan, or Bau Gua, or a Shaolin style that focuses on internal force, rather that outword brute force.
It may help you with your condition.
Peace,

Taichi - this form of martial arts improve the use of your body's chi, or breathing techniques.
Over the long run, it can improve the circulation of your body. Though its slow, its principal lies in taoism, balance of force with a counter force, using force of others to defeat themselves. Its a practical form of martial arts.

I agree with Bushido. Contact your doctor to make sure your condition will allowe you to train. Then explain your situation to your instructor. We normally make accomodations for students with special needs.

Yes, talk to Your Doctor. Then I would start with Akido. I teach Kajukenbo, try that after.
