Hey Mandy...are you having leg pain?

Yes, blood clots are very serious right from the first symptom. Read the symptoms below, and if you feel that you really might have a clot, you really need to see your doctor or go to the ER right away.

I have suffered a DVT (deep venous thrombosis) in my leg, that eventually detached and traveled to my lungs, nearly taking my life.

Here are some symptoms of a DVT (deep clot in the leg)

Only about half of the people with deep vein thrombosis have symptoms. The symptoms may include:

Swelling of the leg

Pain or tenderness in the leg-the pain is usually in one leg and may only be present when standing or walking

Feeling of increased warmth in the area of the leg that is swollen or that hurts

Red or discolored skin.

My only symptom was cramping. It is usually on your inner thigh, as that is where your major vein lies.

If you have any or all of these symptoms, it is extremely important that you get yourself to an ER. They can be life threatening, take it from me!

God Bless, and know you'll be in my prayers.

Chris

Any leg swelling should be reported right away. Stop exercising until you find out what caused it. You may be damaging it further. It could be a blood clot or a pinched nerve. Get to a doctor very soon.

I bet that Dick Cheney didn't wait the weekend before he consulted his doctor when he had a bloodclot in a leg within the last week.
